Change is in the Air

I’m noticing the days are getting shorter. The weather is cooling down. Change is in the air.

I found an old blog post from Oct 2016 that was on a website 2 renditions ago. I am recycling it, because life is like a spiral. Things keep coming back around in cycle. Some things change, like that website that was in the process of being consolidated to a “new” website, that now no longer exists. And some things never change, like my constant curiosity and creativity and desire to try new things.

As the days begin to get shorter and the hot muggy weather is replaced with cooler days, it’s time to look at my routines again. It seems I’ve been doing a lot of letting go this late summer to make room for new things. I’m trying to embrace ease while creating some new habits.

Just like those fall leaves that are turning colors and some even starting to fall, I’m ready to let go of many things and move into a slower pace. One small step at a time.

I’m also ready to do something new! Today I set an alarm for every two hours on my phone, so that I get up from desk and MOVE. It felt good to have a new habit. While I’m up moving around, I drink some water and put something away. Tiny steps, which will lead to some bigger change.

What about you? Are you stuck in your routine or does it flow with ease?  Does life feel like it is speeding up, staying the same, or slowing down? Are you ready to create some new habits?

What is one small step you can take towards a bigger goal this week? Make it visible. Write it down, when and where and all those details that help make the new habit easy.

One small step at a time.

As you move into fall, take time to slow down, let go of what no longer serves you, and embrace some new habits!
